It is a time of freedom and fear, of Gaia and of borders, of many paths and the widening of
a universal toll road, emptying country and swelling cities, of the public bought into
privacy and the privacy of the public sold into invisible data banks and knowing
algorithms. It is the time of the warrior's peace and the miser's charity, when the
planting of a seed is an act of conscientious objection.
These are the times when maps fade and direction is lost. Forwards is backwards now, so we glance sideways at the strange lands through which we are all passing, knowing for certain only that our destination has disappeared. We are unready to meet these times, but we proceed nonetheless, adapting as we wander, reshaping the Earth with every tread. Behind us we have left the old times, the standard times, the high times. Welcome to the irregular times. Why do the Democrats hate America so? They want us all to have it easy. Health care for everybody? Sure, they say! Peace? OK! Prosperity? You bet! They want to make Americans happy. They want Americans to be satisfied. How convenient! We Republicans, on the other hand, know the true meaning of the word love: to look out for others' interests, whether they realize it or not. We know that triumph occurs through adversity. Therefore, George W. Bush, the Republican House and the Republican Senate have spent the past three and a half years introducing adversity. So what's the problem? Trouble makes you grow. It builds character! We're making you miserable for your own good. That's the real policy of we Republicans: tough love. You got a problem with that? Comments:
There is enough adversity in the world without the contributions of the Republican party. If someone is sick or dying, he or she has enough to struggle against even before you make it impossible to purchase drugs at an affordable price. There are thousands of scenarios where Republican tough love only adds to the burdens of the American people. I don't believe the Democrats want us all to have it easy; I believe that they want to offer a helping hand as we struggle. I also believe that it is incredibly hypocritical of Republicans to preach the benifits of trouble when they have never experinced true poverty or adversity. One day the table may be turned and you will be the miserable one, and perhaps because your own contributions no one will be there to help you. How "convenient" that your tough love policies allow you to reap the benifits at the expense of the less powerful. "We're making you miserable for your own good"? It seems to me that you Republicans have confused yourselves with God. Post a Comment Here
