In 2006, political gadflies Ralph Nader and Molly Ivins wrote essays encouraging Bill Moyers to run for president of the United States in 2008. We all know he has a sterling reputation as a thoughtful communicator, generous conversationalist and unconventional researcher on PBS TV. But Mr. Moyers has a great deal of political experience prior to all that. Let's consult our checklist. Is Bill Moyers a progressive? Yup. Public policy experience in the White House? Yup. Great communicator? Yup. Willing to speak truth to power? Yup. Well, darn it all, Bill Moyers for President sure sounds like a good idea to me.
Do you want to help a Draft Moyers movement get off the ground? Do you want to run with this puppy and make it reality? Move ahead and make your stance a public one! We offer these pro-Moyers campaign buttons, bumper stickers, shirts and more through our online shop of progressive paraphernalia. We hope that you'll go and grab a couple, and incite a little subversion amongst your friends and family. Keep in mind that because of our dedication to progressive political causes, we spend 20 percent of our profits on furthering progressive political causes. This helps you send a message in two ways at once: Through the mail and with your wallet.
