It's true that Alabama has some history that it can't be proud of, but there's another side to Alabama too.

Believe it or not, there is a progressive side to Alabama. You can't lump all Alabamans together, and the truth is that a lot of Alabamans have stood up for enlightened ideals against the conservative power-holders that have given Alabama a bad name.

Alabama has got racial, political, religious, and cultural diversity, just like everyone else. We've got gay couples. We've got atheists. We've got liberals.
