AntiWar Mike Gravel Running for President in 2008Back in the 1970s, Alaska's United States Senator Mike Gravel led the fight against the Vietnam War and against the draft. He faced down President Richard M. Nixon and released the Pentagon Papers to the news media in defiance of out-of-control government secrecy.
Now, with George W. Bush in the White House, the dark days of unnecessary wars and dangerous government secrecy are back. Lucky for us, Mike Gravel is back too.
Tomorrow, April 17, 2006, Mike Gravel will announce that he will be running for President of the United States as a Democrat in 2008. Look for Gravel to renew his anti-war, anti-secrecy stands to address today's needs.
The official Mike Gravel for 2008 presidential web site will be online tomorrow. Until then, you can start supporting the Gravel for President campaign by picking up some campaign gear, seen below. We started out with Gravel for President bumper stickers and Gravel 2008 campaign and buttons, but have added a campaign t-shirt, a tote bag, and even some miscellaneous household items. Look for pro-Gravel campaign mugs and more coming soon.
The times are changing... again.
