More Than I Can Make Sense Of

We're starting to hear a lot about the big name candidates for the Republican nomination to run for President in 2008: Bill Frist, Rudolph Giuliani, George Pataki, and so on. But, there are other Republican candidates out there, ones with less name recognition - candidates like Ruth Bryant White.

Ruth Bryant White has been a guest on Bill O'Reilly's TV show, and she's plenty proud of that. Catching the limelight on the Right for a moment seems to have gotten her hooked, and now she's running as what she calls a "Republican Independent" for President of the United States.

She's got a groovy campaign web site, with a Muzak version of the mellow disco hit "More Than a Woman" combined with animated phrases like "politically incorrect" dancing across the screen. But, what does Ruth Bryant White stand for? I'm glad you asked.

The Ruth Bryant White for President campaign platform

Terrify America's children:

Ruth Bryant White says she wants to bring back the time when more children "didn't cuss or sass their parents unless they wanted to figuratively lose their teeth, and no one was going to come to the rescue, but that's apart of growing."

Tax breaks for lottery winners:

Ruth Bryant White wants people who earn their fortunes through games of chance to pay a lower tax rate on their income than people who work for a living. She says, "I am not a fan of Lotteries or Gambling, but as President I will make sure that people who win the lotteries maintain most of their winnings. They should not be taxed for anything under 1 Million Dollars in wings and anything over 1 Million Dollars 10% should be taxed (only once) and another 10% should be given to the Charity of choice, Family member in need, a homeless family or getting children off the streets or something. Before the person receives their winnings, they should be plus they will receive a tax break for the charitable contributions. Everyone needs to participate in saving our country and those who bring so many new ideas to the table as a result of the contributions received."

Confuse privacy advocates into silence:

Ruth Bryant White believes that the American people are entitled to live in privacy, unless the government wants to know about what they're doing in their private lives. "As President I will address those who say they want privacy, but waste taxpayer dollars to get Government approval for the things they say they want to be private. If your life is private then the things that apply will not be addressed in Government, but if and issues are Government one then the Government will have the right to monitor it accordingly the laws and regulations on the books. If a matter is private then the Government will not intrude and the Government should not be asked to make decisions on such matters."

An America for everyone, except non-Christians:

Ruth Bryant White wants America to "stand up and be Proud that we are a Christian Nation that proudly stands by the words 'IN GOD WE TRUST' AMERICA IS YOU AND ME; LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!" See, America is you and me, but not those non-Christians standing over there.

Funneling taxpayers' money to businesses, in order to keep entrepreneurs from becoming dependent on government support:

Ruth Bryant White wants to use the government to support entrepreneurs so that they don't depend upon the government. She says, "As President I will bring real pride in entrepreneurship in America. There are many who have great ideas, but cannot get through the doors to get their project or product either bid on or accepted. I want to know about them and I am going to depend on companies who want to work through a good program to sign up people who need a certain service and find it and then everyone will benefit. This will help new business owners not depend on the government for their success, but their Government should give seed money to get them started."

Expect me to do what's wrong:

Ruth Bryant White wants you to know that, if she becomes President, you can count on her not to do the right thing, whenever an easier choice comes along. On the issue of illegal immigration, for example, she explains, "If I had to take my chances I would do the same thing illegal immigrants are doing, but it's not right."

Force antiwar protesters to join the military

Ruth Bryant White wants to force political dissidents who oppose war to join the military, because what the American military really needs to become more effective is to have more pacifists in its ranks. "War Protestors should have a crash course in what our Military is really about, not what someone told them it's about." Then, see, the antiwar protesters can go and tell other people what the military is really about, and then those people can get a crash course too.

Spend the 1st term in office meeting with every single business executive in the nation:

Ruth Bryant White knows what she'll be doing for the entire first term of her presidency: Meeting with every executive from every company in America. "I plan to meet with every executive in this country about their practices and how they are hurting the working person. If they don't want to take heed, them I will list the companies who refused to meet with me." That'll teach them not to meet with the President of the United States! Put them on a list!

Devise a new language: American

Ruth Bryant White wants to force everyone in America to speak American, so that Americans won't be speaking non-American languages. So, if she becomes President, she will make American the official language of America. "Most Americans feel alienated and frustrated when people who have come into this country say they believe in America and yet they separate themselves by not trying to speak American." What is this "American" language? Oh, yeah, she means English. Now what was that country where the English language comes from? Dang, it's on the tip of my tongue... English... Oh, yeah, now I remember! It's from the USA! Yeah, that's it!
